Resources
Here are just a few of the computer resources we have used before:
Utilities
-
PrintKey-Pro -
This is a great little utility for printing your screen. Definately worth $19.95!
-
WinZip -
If you use zip files, this is a necessity!
Security
-
McAfee -
Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Anti-Spyware, System Security Software
-
Symantec -
Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, System Security and Communications Software
Graphics
-
AlphaButton -
We think this is the absolute best button generation program out there.
It cost around $50. If you find a better one, please let us know.
-
Thumbsplus -
Thumbnail generator, graphics manager, photo website generator
Website Development
-
Macromedia Dreamweaver -
This is our favorite website development tool. We want full control of our
website coding and Dreamweaver 8 gives us just that while helping maintain site
integrity. (i.e. links and file paths) We really love how it handles local view
and remote views of our sites.
-
Microsoft FrontPage -
FrontPage suites many of our customers needs. If you are looking for a simple
solution to create not so complicated websites, then FrontPage is a good choice.
See one of our customers FrontPage sites at
http://www.noteworthyPI.com.
We advise them on how to do certain things and they do the development.
Web based Email
-
Yahoo Mail -
We've tried most of the free services and like Yahoo the best.
When we signed up for the business plan and pay around $35 per year.
It has 2GB of storage with no ads and integrates well with Instant Messanger.
All of our email from various sites and servers is forwarded to our Yahoo address
and we can get to it from anywhere.
-
GMail (Google Mail) -
It looks like it is still in its beta testing. We don't think it can beat
Yahoo yet. Who knows about the future?
-
Hotmail -
Yet another web based email site.
Instant Messenger
-
Yahoo! Messenger -
IM is good, but the best part is that LaunchCast, Yahoo's radio service, is integrated!!!
Unlimited radio of only my chosen artists!
These are a few of the programs and websites that we like. Use them at your own risk.
